UNDERSTANDING THE KINGDOM PRINCIPLES
CHAPTER 9
The power of God’s kingdom principles is a very pertinent subject that all men needs to appreciate. The kingdom principles refer to the transformative, spiritual, and moral authority that flows from the living according to the values and teachings of God’s kingdom as revealed in scripture, especially through the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. These principles are not just ethical guidelines but are the carrier of divine power to change hearts, societies, and spiritual realities.
Some of the core Kingdom principles and their power includes:
Love and forgiveness: – The power of love has the capacity to break cycles of hatred, heals relationships, and demonstrates God’s grace. The same love was exhibited by God Himself when He sent his son Jesus Christ to die on the cross so that whoever believes in him may receive forgiveness of sin and receive eternal life (John 3:16).
Faith and Trust in God: – Them that put their faith in God are likened to a tree planted by the river side, they have the power to overcome fear from any danger. The faith in believers empowers them to act courageously and obediently to God. Through faith (Mathew 17:20) men are able to accomplish great missions which are beyond their human capacity, faithful believers in God in the Bible are the people God used to bring positive change and transformation in to the world.
Humility and Servanthood: – humble men and women of God are on record that God has used them to subvert worldly power structures and build community rooted in mutual honor where everybody matters no matter their position in the society. The excellence of this strength demonstrates God’s image to the world and it creates equal opportunity to all men. The book of Mathew 23:12 – For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but the one who humbles himself will be exalted.
Righteousness and Justice: – Those who are living a righteous life and are propagating justice are the true promoters of fairness, integrity, and reflects God’s character in social system. God is looking for men and women who can offer their bodies as living sacrifice holy and acceptable to God. True ambassadors of God’s kingdom are those who are never ashamed of demonstrating fairness and justice to all regardless of their race, colour and ethnic background. David sang a song in the book of Psalm 82:3 – Give justice to the weak and orphan, maintain the right of the lowly and the destitute.
Peace and Reconciliation: – The agents of the Kingdom of God have the power to dismantle division and foster unity among people and unity with God, they can only do this when they practice and promote peace and reconciliation given by the Lord Jesus Christ.
King Solomon when he was asked by God what he would want from God he answered that he needed three things, Knowledge, wisdom and understanding.
What is knowledge? The answer to this, “Knowledge is information”
What is understanding? Answer to this is, “comprehension”
What is wisdom? The answer to this is, “Application”
We need to understand that the reason why Jesus used a lot of parables during his teachings is because the kingdom of God embraces that fact that nothing is yours until you discover it. Parables was intentionally used by Jesus to hide the truth until the audience develops the capacity of discovery then they could apply the knowledge.
Understanding the kingdom principles will give you the capacity to transform your behavioral patterns and develop new characters necessary for sustainable growth and prosperity. God in His wisdom is very much aware of the fact that the three needs to be balanced in equal measure.
The “kingdom of God” and the concept of “principalities” often intersect in theological discourse, but their relationships is complex and depends on the interpretation of scripture and theology. The term “principalities”(Greek – archai) refers to spiritual powers or authorities often used to describe angelic or demonic entities. In the book of Ephesians 6:12 – Apostle Paul writes that Christians wrestle against principalities, powers, rulers of the darkness of this age, and spiritual hosts of wickedness in heavenly places. All spiritual transactions happening in the spiritual realm are conducted in total obedience to the principalities that controls the territories where the events take place.
Many people know about the kingdom principles but majority do not understand. The way to know that you do not understand is when you cannot apply the principles of the kingdom in your day to day walk with God. Any kingdom principle which is not applied can only yield zero return. The kingdom of God for instance does not advocate for democracy because Jesus is the king of kings, hence the word of the king is a law by itself. Nobody can fire Jesus from sovereign seat of ruler ship because nobody voted for him to that same position, he gave himself then was appointed by God and now his kingdom shall rule into eternity.
Many problems we are experiencing in the society today can be associated with the secular kingdom principles of this world, for instance democracy; the so called balance of power. God alone is the one who has the power to donate to whoever He chooses to do so. Be it the power to get wealth, power to lead others, power to do the work of ministry or power to reproduce, it is all about God the father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
The Kingdom of God
The kingdom of God refers to God’s sovereign rule and reign over all creations, both spiritually and ultimately, physically. All the physics and chemistry of life that controls the world submits to the authority and principalities of God’s kingdom. In the Bible, it is described as both a present reality (for example in the hearts of believers) and a feature hope (the full manifestation of God’s rule).
Interaction Between the Kingdom of God and Principalities
Christ’ supremacy: The Bible teaches that Jesus Christ has ultimate authority over all principalities (Colossians 1:16-17 – all things were created through Him and for Him, including principalities and powers. Ephesians 1:20-22shows that Christ is seated at the right hand of God, far above all principalities.
The kingdom of God operates under the influence of sets of spiritual principalities and it is these principalities that dictates the forces and determines manifestations in the physical realm of life. Nothing just happens in life, things happen because there are spiritual forces that acts as the drivers. The great joy we have in our salvation is that God permits the existence of both good and evil principalities but retains ultimate control. In the kingdom of God, righteous principalities (Angels for example) serve His purposes, while rebellious ones are restrained and will ultimately face judgment (Revelation 20:10).
All the powers given to men by God is tuned to operate only under the governance of the principalities of God’s kingdom hence the need to know and understand how the principalities of the kingdom the works in the chemistry of the spiritual realm.
Battle against Evil Principalities: Although Christ is supreme, evil principalities still operate within the world. They are the forces that are responsible for the activities of the dark world causing pain, murder, rape and premature deaths and occultism. The evil principalities are the forces that resist God’s rule. Believers are called to wage spiritual warfare against these forces (Ephesians 6:10-18) while relying on God’s power.
Redemptive purpose: Even though principalities can be agents of rebellion, God ultimately uses all things, including their actions, to fulfill His sovereign purposes (Romans 8:28)
The Principalities of Order
First things first. Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things will be added to you (Mathew 6:33). Believers have a role to play in the establishment of the rule of God’s kingdom principalities here on earth. Christians, as part of God’s kingdom, are called to stand against evil principalities through faith, prayer, and obedience to God. Believers are assured of victory because Christ has already triumphed over all powers through His death and resurrection (Colossians 2:15).
The principalities of order dictates that believers in Christ needs first to seek righteousness and live according to the word of God. Ephesians 6:12 – For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Ambassadors of the kingdom of God must deliberately chose to hate sin and strive to embrace holiness based on the word of God. Believers must be ready to resist the demonic agendas of this world and this will take a fight. Avoid fornication and adultery plus any other evil activities the enemy is currently using to enslave this generation, and this finally leads to a transformed life in Christ
The impact of God’s kingdom on believers’ lives is multifaceted, fostering personal transformation, a commitment to service, cultural influence, and an eternal perspective that shapes their interactions and purpose in the world.
Principalities in Scripture
The power of scripture in deliverance is shown throughout the Bible. God’s word is living, active, and able to break spiritual strongholds, bring freedom, and protect believers from the enemy. We can see the word as a weapon against the enemy in the book of Ephesians 6:17 – says, “Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.” Daily application of scripture in the life of a believer gives him an edge against any evil spiritual forces.
The term “principalities” refers to spiritual rulers or authorities. In Christian theology, the kingdom of God signifies God’s sovereign rule over all creations, encompassing both the present reality and feature fulfilment of His reign. Principalities also can refer to the position or authority of a prince or ruler; sovereignty; supreme power The kingdom influences believers’ lives in several transformative ways:
Personal conversion
All men are commanded by God to repent in order for them to be delivered from sinful nature. No one can enter the kingdom of God without being born again. Mark 1:15 (NIV) – The time has come, “He said. The kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe the good news!” Conversion requires repentance and faith in the gospel.
Embracing God’s kingdom leads to a weighty personal change. It is important to acknowledge that the fear of God is a prerequisite to realizing personal transformation, they experience spiritual renewal, aligning their values and actions with divine principles and values of God’s kingdom. Their transformation fosters growth in righteousness, peace and joy through the Holy Spirit. The impact of this transformation must demonstrate a change in the cultural way of how things are done.
Service and Humility
Jesus the son of God demonstrated leadership via service, teaching that greatness in God’s kingdom is accomplished by serving others. Believers in Jesus Christ are called to imitate this humility, impacting their population positively by addressing needs and promoting justice. True servant hood comes with a lot of meekness. Service and humility is more spiritual than physical. God is always happy whenever you dedicate your life in the service to human need.
Mathew 23:11 (NIV) – “The greatest among you will be your servant” In God’s kingdom, greatness is not measure by power, titles, or position, but by humility and service to others, following the example of Christ (Mark 10:43-45).
Cultural impact
The principles of God’s kingdom defy societal standards, promoting values such as love, peace, unity, forgiveness and compassion. By living out these value, Christians can effect positive cultural change, reflecting God’s reign in various aspects of society. Positive cultural influence has the capacity to transform our national ethos and transform our social settings for the betterment of the society. The many challenges we have always been grappling with for instance racial discrimination can be cured through positive cultural influence.
Eternal perspective
An eternal perspective will keep our eyes focused on God’s promises, eternity, and hope of glory and it empowers believers to stand firm and overcome the enemy’s attacks. The book of Hebrews 12:2-3 – states that, “Let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith, this will in turn give the believer eternal outlook which creates understanding of the kingdom of God and how it operates thus influencing their daily decisions and priorities. This perspective encourages a focus on spiritual growth and the well-being of others, rather than solely on temporal concerns.
Eternal perspective will cause a paradigm shift in the mind set and thought process of mankind hence creating a healthy decision making process that guarantees positive results. Eternal perspective is a pertinent aspect to mankind because God’s original plan was for man to have everlasting life. The disruption to this eternity just came when the first man fell into sin. It is therefore necessary for man regain this optics of life since it is the correct position how life should be viewed.
7 Kingdom principles to augment your faith
The church needs to master the seven kingdom principles to supplement their faith in Christ Jesus in order to become effective in their calling. Apostle Paul is writing to the Philippian church saying, “work out your salvation with fear and trembling”. This statement implies a need to live out-to practice, demonstrate, and exhibit the salvation which believers have Christ. The concept of fear and trembling refers to worshipful respect to God.
2Peter 1:5-8 – For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, mutual affection and to mutual affection, love. For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
The seven kingdom principles to augment faith in Christ Jesus are
Goodness
Knowledge
Self-control
Perseverance
Godliness
Mutual affection and
Love
Many of those who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ today are bored and tired of their journey of salvation due to many reasons. As a matter of fact, some have already given up although they are still hanging on faith just because they have no alternative. Many are disillusioned, broken hearted and down casted to the core.
Faith alone minus effort can do nothing. Your faith needs to be supplemented with certain ingredients for it to become effective so that it can produce the expected results. I can remember some of the crazy actions of some gospel fathers in the Bible that left a land mark in the history of mankind, great testimony was written when Abraham decided to offer his only son Isaac to God as a sacrifice, this was faith augmented.
Ordinary faith will lead to ordinary life which will lead to ordinary result, this is common everywhere and the world is used to this. God is looking for men with significant faith; that faith is like the one of Dorcas in the book of Acts 9:36-43. She lived in the port city of Joppa, today absorbed by Tel Aviv. Acts describes her as being known for her good works and act of mercy, sewing clothes for the poor.
Dorcas of Joppa dedicated her life for helping needy widows. Her acts of mercy and deeds of kindness showed in that many people mourned her when she died. He faith did not begin and end with praise the Lord alone; it was a significant faith full of actions of kindness and mercy to the needy in the society.
Goodness to all mankind
Romans 12:21 – Don not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with goo”. Goodness is the ability to choose to remain positive in life despite the prevailing circumstance around you, it is the capacity to refuse to allow the outer climate to determine the inner condition of your temperament. Goodness, as a principle of God’s kingdom, offers diverse advantages that significantly impact both individuals and communities. The principle of goodness as a key aspect of God’s of God’s kingdom holds several advantages, both spiritually and physically. Here are some of them.
Reflecting God’s nature brings inner peace as His attribute. Peace with men and with yourself as a person, peace at the place of work and at home. Above all it creates the atmosphere of harmony, and forgiveness that leads to good relationship with others. We experience the pace that surpasses all human understanding because of the principle of goodness (Philippians 4:7). We need to work on our world view first if we are to become good to the people around us. The way we perceive others matters a lot because that will significantly determine how we judge them. We need to embrace God’s optics when analyzing their personality.
Generosity is an attribute of goodness. When we find ourselves not struggling with the need to share with those who are needy around us, no matter how small you begin it brings such a big impact to the society. The world is full of needy people. You cannot fail to find a needy situation around you where you can donate your talent and gift for free. God is not calling you to give what you do not have. Everyone has something special which they can give to make a difference in the society.
Your talent could be the fact that you are more endowed financially compared to your siblings, you can decide to support them by paying their college fees. Others could be gifted in the field of serving as pastors, you can dedicate your time to minister to everyone around you without demanding for payment.
God Himself has demonstrated to us the true model of goodness by sending us His only begotten son Jesus Christ who is our Lord and savior. The death of Jesus on thee cross marked the climax of the goodness of our God because through the death of Jesus He took away all our sins so that whoever repents can have eternal life. John 3:16 – For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son that whosoever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life.
Good people and great people. There is a proverb once said that, “The greatness of a man is not in how much wealth he acquires, but in his integrity and his ability to affect those around him positively”. Words of wisdom from Bob Marley. God is the greatest giver and as such all those who claim to be the children of God should reflect that nature of goodness associated with giving.
Goodness Reflects God’s Nature
Goodness align with the very nature of God, who is defined as holy, just, and loving. By practicing goodness, believers mirror God’s character and fulfill their purpose as God’s image-bearers. Reflecting God’s nature is both a profound blessing and a spiritual calling. It is the privilege of embodying His attributes, allowing His character to shine through our actions, words, and choices.
Men can reflect God’s nature by embodying his attributes and striving to live according to His character. The Bible provides guidance on how men can honor God in their actions, relationships, and roles. Some of the key ways to reflect God’s nature in life includes the need to pursue holiness and integrity, love unconditionally, lead with servanthood, demonstrate faithfulness, and act of compassion and mercy.
Holiness is the signature of God and it is what distinguishes the true God from other idols. God is Holy and calls His followers to be holy (1 Peter 1:16). Men can reflect this by striving to live with integrity, making unpopular choices that align with God’s standards, and avoiding sin. Sometimes some of the choices will come at a very heavy price but it is worth paying the price of integrity than enjoying the short lived pleasure of the world which will attract God’s judgment.
God is love (1 John 4:8). Men can reflect this by loving others selflessly, they can love their spouses, children, friends, church members, neighbors and even enemies. The act of love includes acts of kindness, forgiveness, and compassion, mirroring Christ’s sacrificial love (Ephesians 5:25). It is by doing this that we can truly become the salt of the world as per the word of God.
Leading with servanthood spirit is extremely critical especially in this generation. Many people who purport to be leaders today are experiencing high deficient servanthood in their leadership styles. The same way Christ led by serving others, men can reflect God’s nature by being servant leaders in their homes, work places, and communities. Leadership modelled after Christ is humble, selfless and focused on the wellbeing of others (Mark 10:45).
Good people demonstrate high level of faithfulness be it in small or big things. Demonstration of faithfulness is the key to promotion according to God’s kingdom protocol. All those who claims to be the sons of God should always remember that God is faithful (Deuteronomy 7:9). Men can reflect this by being dependable, keeping their promises, and staying committed to their responsibilities and relationships. The best way to execute this reflection is by remembering that all things belongs to God, we are just stewards who have been appointed to stand as caretakers on behalf of the kingdom of God. For instances Pastors are just care takers of the church which is the bride of Jesus Christ, pastors should not therefore behave like they are the owners of the church, they should render their services with utmost faithfulness to God and the members they are serving.
Goodness Strengthen relationships
Goodness fosters trust, kindness and mutual respect in relationships. It encourages love, compassion, and forgiveness, leading to healthier and more meaningful interactions with others. We all need one another because God in His Wisdom He created us with diverse talent meaning that we are all endowed differently.
It is only through strong and good relationship that we can all enjoy our fellowship one to another. The fellowship like that which existed in the early church where they learnt to share everything until none of them lacked (Acts 4:34). There were no needy one among them, because those who owned lands, house would sell their properties then share.
Goodness Promotes Inner Peace
Living according to God’s principle of goodness cultivates a clear conscience and inner peace. It reduces guilt and anxiety, allowing individual to experience spiritual contentment. The inner peace that comes from God is not that which is based on the abundance of the material things, the inner peace of God is built on the foundation of divine contentment in Jesus Christ. When a believer focuses on the eternal perspective then the earthly things becomes irrelevant.
Peace of Christ is different from the peace of the world. Inner peace is that peace that thrives on the promises of God regarding the things that are now and the things to come. Our heart should be filled with the hope of things to come knowing well that the one who promised is faithful. Our Abba father the creator of heaven and earth is not a man that He can relent on His promises.
It is the hope of eternity which will inspire faithful men to do good because of their trust in the one who promised. Whenever you are doing good to someone then you should not expect a payback from the same person because that can lead to disappointment and it is not a healthy approach spiritually. All good works shall be rewarded by God the father on the last day. Your peace will be guaranteed when you know that the one who promised to reward you is able and His name is Jehovah.
Goodness Enhances Witness to others
Goodness serves as a testimony to others about the transformative power of God’s kingdom. Witness draws others to Christ by demonstrating the beauty of living under God’s rule. It is easier to win to Christ the person who has tasted the act of goodness from you, hence this makes the work of evangelism easier because it acts as a lubricant to the flow of communication between you and the disciple.
God has given to all believers the great commission so that we may all become witness of Jesus Christ, starting with Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and to the ends of the world. Going by the look of the trend of the church growth today it is clearly evident that the church is very far from realizing this divine goal partly because the believers in Christ are yet to discover the secret of being good to the society they live in.
Jesus during his ministry did several miracles which could be directly classified under this category of wanting to show the goodness of God. Jesus healed the sick, he resurrected the dead, the cripples walked and the blind had their eyes opened. The Bible says he did good everywhere he went (Acts 10:38), this act of doing good enabled him to gain acceptance with the people and the gospel was widely accepted due to that.
Goodness Leads to Eternal Reward
Scripture teaches that practicing goodness is rewarded in God’s eternal kingdom. “Do not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap if we do not give up” (Galatians 6:9). Every good work shall be rewarded by God who is just and fair in all His judgment. The most important part of this reward is that it is not just a reward but it is eternal in nature.
Temporary things are not good things because they are short-lived. The eternal reward is super and unique in the sense that you will enjoy the reward for ever and ever.
The eternal reward from God is the ultimate blessing for believers in Jesus Christ, transcending earthly rewards and providing everlasting joy and fulfilment. Some of the key advantages of everlasting reward from God include everlasting life, fulfilment of God’s promises, crowns of honor, eternal rest, and unshakable inheritance.
The welcome remarks from God as recorded in the Bible is where He will tell those who have overcome the enemy as they enter into heave by saying, “welcome my good and faithful servant” (Mathew 25:21)
When we chose to remain faithful to God then we are keeping our treasure in heaven where moths and rust cannot reach, meaning that our reward in heaven shall abide for ever and ever and is not time bound. The reward you will receive in heaven will never be taken away from you. I have heard a story of the joy and celebration associated with those who have ever won a premier league trophy in one season, then when they lost the same trophy in the following season they felt broken hearted and demoralized. God’s reward is permanent, it will never be taken away from you and this is the beauty of being good for the sake of the kingdom.
Goodness Brings Societal Transformation
Galatians 6:9-10 – Let us not become weary in doing good… Therefore, as we have the opportunity let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.” When individuals live out goodness, communities are transformed, justice fairness, and charity flourish, creating environment that reflect God’s kingdom on Earth. Our goodness as the church of Christ is good enough to transform the society will live in today. Practical ministry is where we strive to impact the society by learning ways in which we can meet their needs using the available resources that God has given us.
The environment in the world today is hostile to God’s kingdom affairs because Christians are yet to become deliberate in impacting and transforming their society. The church must become purpose driven by every activity they engage and ask themselves the question whether the activity is transformation oriented or not.
The Bible says that we should not conform to the world but be transformed, meaning that our actions as believers should stand out so that the world may see us as the role model for them to emulate. Our words and culture as believers should challenge the standards of the world so that the people of the world may desire to receive the Jesus of our salvation.
Our value systems as believers in Christ should distinguish us among many multitudes. The light of our salvation can only shine when our values portray transparency and accountability
Goodness Align with the Holy Spirit’s Work
Goodness is a fruit of the Holy Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23). Cultivating it allows believers to grow spiritually and align their lives with the spirit’s guidance. It is essential for aligning with the work of the Holy Spirit. It reflects God’s character and empowers believers to live in harmony with the will of the Holy Spirit
Goodness mirrors God’s image. God is inherently good (Psalm 145:9). When we demonstrate goodness, we reflect His nature, allowing the Holy Spirit to work through us and transform us into the image of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is just a normal thing that we resemble our God who is our spiritual father.
Goodness brings sensitivity to the guidance of the Spirit of God. A heart committed to goodness is more attuned to the Holy Spirit’s promptings. Goodness enables us to discern the leading of the Holy Spirit, making us note receptive to His direction in our actions and decisions.
When we align with the Holy Spirit then we find joy in building up others. Goodness involves selflessly serving and uplifting other people. This aligns with the Spirit’s work of building the body of Christ, as act of goodness encourage and strengthen fellow believers.
Goodness Builds a Legacy of Righteousness
Goodness inspires others to follow suit, leaving a lasting legacy of righteousness for feature generations. By embracing goodness as a principle of God’s kingdom, individuals live lives that glorify God, bless others, and ultimately fulfill the purposes of His will on Erath as it is in Heaven.
Goodness grounds life in God’s word. David sang and said in Psalm119:105 – Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. A legacy of righteousness starts with knowing God’s will. Regular study of the Bible equips you to understand kingdom values and the benefits thereof hence inspires the believer to stay in the spirit of goodness, not because the environment is good but because the source and motivation of the goodness is from the word of God. The word of God will equip you to understand the principles of God’s kingdom and live them out through acts of goodness
Knowledge
The principle of knowledge in God’s kingdom refers to the transformative power of divine truth revealed through scripture, the Holy Spirit, and personal faith in the word and Jesus Christ. This kingdom principle can deliver individuals by enlightening their mind, aligning their lives with God’s will, and freeing them from the bondage of ignorance, sin, and falsehood. This powerful principle can work in diverse ways
Revealing truth. God’s knowledge exposes the lies and deceptions that may be holding someone captive, Jesus said, “You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free” (John 8:32). This truth brings clarity and direction. Every decision you will make in life will be largely based on the influence of the truth of the word of God, leading to quality life style.
Breaking strong holds through the knowledge of God is a critical empowerment needed by every believer. Knowledge of God helps to dismantle mental and spiritual strong holds, and patterns of thinking that oppose the will of God. Apostle Paul writes, “we demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God” (2Cor10:5)
Knowledge of God empowers believers to make sound and mature decisions in life. We all need supernatural power of God for us to make the right decision in our daily life. With God’s wisdom individuals can make better choices that leads to peace, purpose, and fulfilment. Proverbs 3:5-6 – encourages us to trust in the understanding of God rather than leaning on our own knowledge. There are many challenges we are going through now because of the wrong choice that you made yesterday, and sometimes simply because we are limited in understanding as mankind. King Solomon was presented with two choices when God asked him to choose what he would want God to do for him. The Bible records of a very rare choice which was made by Solomon when he asked God to bless him with wisdom. The king did not ask for material wealth but instead chose to ask God to bless him with unparalleled wisdom and God did so.
Positive character transformation comes as a result of the knowledge of God. Character is one of the most critical elements to good leadership skills. Many great leaders fail to reach their destiny and to the climax of their leadership because of bad character. Your gifts can elevate you to the pinnacle of your greatness but only positive character can keep you up there.
Positive character can be built using the knowledge of God as the mandatory basic ingredient, but is can also be destroyed when we eliminate the inclusion of the knowledge of God in building our character. A leader’s character determines what they pay attention to, who they spend time with, how they receive feedback, and whether they are able to make effective judgment and decisions which are sound and relevant to the prevailing circumstances around. This basically means that character is the key to success.
Transformation power.
Knowledge of God creates both internal and external transformation. All men need to undergo transformation for them to fit in the plans and in the will of God the creator. All men are sinful and fallen short of the glory of God hence the need to undergo transformation. We all need to redeem the image and likeness of our God the father who created us in His likeness and in His image. Knowledge of the word of God which is the epitome of God Himself is of paramount importance as the step one towards positive transformation.
As individuals grow in their understanding of God’s ways, their hearts and actions are transformed. Romans 12:2 – says, “Be transformed by the renewing of your mind” this renewal comes through learning and applying God’s principles of which knowledge of God is one of the principles.
Our value systems need a thorough transformation from inside out. The reason behind this transformation is because even though we are in this world we are not of this world, we represent a king that is not of this world. We belong to the family of God where there are value system in place.
We need to understand the protocols in the kingdom of God and how they relate and interact with the world such that we become the influencers to those who are yet to know Christ as their personal savior. Deliberate effort is required to realize such goals because it will not happen by itself. Spiritual vigilance is needed to ensure seamless transition from valuing the things of the world to embracing transformation that creates sustainable transformation in a person. It is important to acknowledge that every human being is a leader over some domain
Freedom from fear and sin.
Knowledge of God’s promises – such as forgiveness, grace, and eternal life, it also delivers people from fear, guilt, and the power of sin (2Timothy 1:7). Fear is the most powerful weapon the devil uses to paralyze believers in the world. Uncontrolled fear can cause a very powerful leader to become flat and useless. But many people suffer fear because they have no knowledge about the promises of God. Many have no idea of the great things God has set apart for those who have faith in Him.
Building faith. Faith is rooted in the knowledge of God’s word. Romans 10:17 – says that, “faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of God. This faith equips individuals to overcome challenges.
Self-Control
Self-control keeps us from captivity of sin. Proverbs 25:28 – “Like a city whose walls are broken through is a person who lacks self-control” Without self-control a believer is defenseless against the enemy. With it, there is protection there is protection and deliverance from bondage.
Self-control helps ua resist the devil. 1Peter 5:8-9 – “Be alert and sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him standing firm in the faith..” Sobriety keeps the believer watchful and able to resist demonic attacks.
A believer can also experience consistency on the path to restoration through self-control. 1 Corinthians 9:25 – Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. Just as athletes recover victory through discipline, believers recover spiritual crowns through self-control
Perseverance
Perseverance positively impacts prosperity in a believer’s life not just materially, but spiritually, emotionally, and socially. Many believers will attest to the fact that perseverance leads to answered promises both of God and men. Hebrews 10:36 – “You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what He has promised” Prosperity in God’s kingdom often comes after faithful endurance.
Maturity and lasting success is always a byproduct of perseverance. James 1:3-4 – “Because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.” The capacity required for one to qualify the readiness to experience inheritance from God is maturity. God cannot transfer His kingdom wealth to spiritual babes. Majority of believers have always been delayed to access their God ordained inheritance by the fact that they have failed to mature up.
There are unique blessings and rewards given by God only based on the seed of perseverance. The Bible says in the book of Galatians 6:9 – “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up” Perseverance ensures that believers reap their harvest of prosperity in due season. Believers are therefore required to understand the times and the seasons of their generation. God cannot allow delay to stay for no reason and its good for believers to understand that delay is not denial. Perseverance is the only yard stick that can measure our capacity to wait on God. Keep trusting upon God no matter how long the promise may seem to delay. Through discernment seek to distinguish the voice of God from the other voices.
Godliness
There are so many spiritual and physical blessings which we can directly associate with the seed of Godliness. 1Timothy 4:8 – “For physical training is of some value, but Godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.” God channels blessings of this life and eternal life to those who walk in Godliness. It takes a lifetime journey for one to successfully complete this walk with God. Some believers who do not have the capacity of perseverance have fallen by the way side simpy because they expected instant coffee approach.
Godliness brings contentment and sufficiency even in times of scarcity of material needs. 1 Timothy 6:6 – “But Godliness with contentment is great gain” True prosperity comes when godliness channels peace, sufficiency, and satisfaction in life. Believers whose strength is based on this pillar of godliness cannot fall to the deception of the enemy that operates on the stronghold of materialism.
Believers also strategically find themselves positioned for answered prayer. The word of God tells us in Proverbs 15:29 That the Lord is far from the wicked, but hears the prayer of the righteous. Spiritual positioning is extremely vital in experiencing breakthrough. Its important for believers to always keep a routine check on their spiritual position in their day to day walk with God.
Godliness is not just a religious acts, but about living with integrity, reverence to God, and aligning one’s character with God’s principles. This can directly or indirectly contribute to promotion in life-in career, relationships, leadership, and even spiritual growth, for instance building trust and reputation. Godly people live by honesty, integrity, and fairness. Employers, leaders, and communities trust such individuals with responsibility because they are dependable. Proverbs 22:1 – “A good name is more desirable than great than great riches”
Diligence and excellence is mostly birthed by Godliness. Godliness teaches that work is service to God, this motivates a person to be diligent, disciplined, and consistent. Colossians 3:23 – “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord” Only those men with stewardship mentality can understand this better. We need to also acknowledge that everything we have belongs to God and we are just stewards of God’s property.
Those who fear God live a life that promotes humility and servant leadership. Humility attracts favor and opens doors. Godly leaders serve others, which makes people willingly support and elevate them. James 4:10” Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.” Those who exalts themselves will be humbled by God, as the Bible says pride comes before the fall.
Godly people often demonstrate wisdom as they are guided by God in decision making process, Godliness nurtures wisdom through God’s word and spirit, this leads to sound, ethical decisions that bring success and recognition. Proverbs 3:5-6 “In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your path” I want to offer free advice to all those aspiring to make an impact in their generation that the only reliable means to greatness is to live a Godly life. Let your businesses understand the language of your God and you will overcome every schemes of the devil.
Divine favor is an ingredient we cannot do without if we want to achieve the best result in life as per the plans of God. Promotion is not only about human effort-it often requires divine favor. Godliness positions a person for God’s blessings and open doors that human connections can’t provide. Psalm 75:6-7 – “Promotion comes neither from the east, nor from the west…but God is the judge; He puts down one, and sets up another” When Godliness becomes a lifestyle then promotion becomes a routine. We can do nothing without God’s intervention because we are spiritual beings. Life is more spiritual than physical.
Mutual affection
Mutual affection means a two-way love relationship between God and man. God first loved us (1 John 4:19). Man responds with love, obedience, and devotion (Deuteronomy 6:5). It is not just religion, but relationship. Every believer therefore must make a choice to become intentional in building this kind of mutual relationship with God. The first and very most important building block God requires from mankind is to offer ourselves as a living sacrifice, Holy and acceptable to God.
Inner peace and joy is generated when mankind walks in mutual relationship with God. God’s love and fellowship gives peace that surpasses understanding (Philippians 4:7). Loving God back fills the heart with joy that the world cannot give (John 15:11). When love is mutual we desire to live in obedience and holiness. God’s Spirit works in us to reflect His nature – love, kindness, forgiveness
Our mutual affection with God gives ua assurance to eternal life. Those who love God and are loved by Him have the assurance of everlasting fellowship with Him (John 14:21-23). This mutual love guarantees security both now and in eternity. A heart connected to love with God naturally hears God and bears good fruit (John 15:5). Such a life blesses others, drawing people to God through acts of love and compassion. We can become the world changers when the world around us sees the manifestation of God’s love in us, this explains the true meaning of believers being the light and salt of the world.
Love
Love delivers from the bondage of sin when it breaks the power of sin. When we love God sin loses its attractiveness, we become more obsessed by God’s intimacy. Our mindset switches to embrace heavenly realm above the things of the world. Joseph resisted Potiphar’s wife, not out of fear, but because he loved and honored God. (Genesis 39:9). Joseph had all the natural feeling like any other normal person, but he had greater affinity for God’s love hence the reason he could not succumb to the beauty of Potiphar’s wife. Perfect love casts out fear (1John 4:18). Fear is a form of bondage, but affection towards God brings trust and peace.
Love transform obedience to God into freedom. Without love obeying God feels like slavery. With love, obedience becomes joy (John 14:15), this sets the heart free from legalism. Love transforms God’s commandments into love language, every believer will start seeing the laws not as legalistic burdens but instead as road signs to safety arrival.
The most reliable string that connects man to God’s power is Love. Bondage is too strong for human strength. Love brings intimacy with God, and in His presence, yokes are broken (Isaiah 10:27). Finally, men can discover their true identity in that through the experience of God’s love, it gives birth to true identity as sons and not as slaves. Mutual affection seals our adoption into God’s family freeing us from the spirit of slavery
