The Secret to a Great Marriage
Well, here I am today at the golf course champions. Kind of a unique thing for me because I don’t get to play golf very much anymore, but I sure enjoy it. But I wanted to talk with you today and challenge you about the uh how is your spiritual intimacy with your spouse. That’s right, your spiritual intimacy with your spouse.
You know, that’s something that can make a difference in a marriage, can make a difference in a family. A lot of times we shepherds and pastors, you just we take it for granted our wives and and I’m going to say it’s the men because it is up to us to be the leader, to be the provider, the protector, to be what God really called us to be and created us to be as men.
Spiritual Intimacy
And so spiritual intimacy can make all the difference in the world in your marriage. Believe me. But what is that?
Let me just say this. It’s more than just doing Bible studies together. It’s actually doing life together with God. Putting God first in your life. But let’s get really down to it. Real intimacy is when you pray together, when you talk to God together, the father, you just tell one another, too. You tell the father how much you love your wife, you love your spouse, and you just lift them up with joy and thanksgiving and just reach out to heaven for your marriage, for your children. That spiritual intimacy makes all the difference in the world. I want to ask you today to talk at your table. Do you really pray together? Do you really have intimacy?
Do you hold each other and tell your wife, “Praise God, I thank God for you.”
That is the greatest intimacy that you possibly can have today.
Discuss this at your table if you have a table, and if you don’t, I challenge you once again, get a table, find three others that you can meet with on a regular basis and encourage, become your prayer fortress to actually hold each other accountable.
And I promise you, you will attain higher goals. You will have stronger marriages. You will have counselors that care. And you will have you’ll have some brothers that you truly can trust. God bless you. Linda and I are praying for you and I pray that you have a terrific week.
