Slavery Exists, Where do you Stand

Well, hey champions, I have a quick question for you this morning. Who owns you?

Who Owns You

Yes, that’s my real question. Who owns you? You know, Jesus, the word of God talks about that you have been bought with a price. If you are a child of God, Jesus paid the price. He gave himself for you if you’re a child of his.

Now, the fact of the matter is there’s evidence that we are a child of God. We are a child of Jesus. Our body is not our own. We are not our own. We literally have been paid for by the Lord Jesus Christ. So, he is our master. Do you ever by chance call Jesus your Lord and Savior and Master?

He is Our Master

Well, today at your table, I’d like us to really talk about what does that mean? You know, what really does it mean to be called a slave, a bond slave to Christ.

We have become a new creation, a new creature. Old things are passed away. The question I have for us today is what old things in our lives have passed away? What really is gone? You know, are we living in the flesh? Do we still have the fleshly desires and do we give into them? Or are we strong in the power of the Holy Spirit to say no to those temptations?

The New Testament lists the things very specifically of what we are not and what we are when we truly have been bought, when we truly have received Christ and he is our master.

So today, why don’t we look at what those things are and see if we really are who owns you? Who owns me? Big questions important. The fact of the matter is that is the determination of whether we truly are a Christian, a Christ follower or not.

The evidence is in have we been transformed and are we something different? Are we trying to make excuses and say this is okay or that is okay? Which is specifically identified as not being okay.

Well, let’s talk about it today at the table.
