How to Become a Champion Pastor!

Are you kidding me? First you say “All Pro Pastor” and now you say “Champion”. What’s the catch? Here it is. Every Pastor is an All Pro or should be as God’s Messenger and assigned Shepherd, but not all are “Champions”. We must strive to be Champions every day….. and it starts with the Man! As Pastors we are taught many “how to’s” regarding the Church. There are countless support structures and teachings on every conceivable issue, but when it comes to the person called Pastor, it can become very lonely. The Champion Pastor is proactive in doing any and everything to be the Man, God created him to be so that he can be the Pastor he was called to be!

It is the Man part of us where the enemy hits us, our family, our marriage, our mind, our work, our ego and pride, our attitude, our honesty, our finances, our secret struggles, Pastor you know exactly what I am talking about. It is all of us who are called Pastor who are attacked in these areas. Many Pastor tendencies are to keep everything bottled up inside and give the appearance of being indestructible. We isolate ourselves internally and put our feelings, emotions and trust on the “Island of Aloneness”.  Most would say, I am surrounded by people, have a family I love and a wife I adore, yet I catch myself with no-one to trust and no-one to talk too. Who can I trust Lord? Is their anyone I can talk to and feel safe??

Pastor, the answer is Yes. God gave us a very powerful and effective solution to defeating this “aloneness”! We have started something called “Champion Tables”. These Tables are made up of four Pastors who meet for about 1-2 hours each week to talk as MEN. Much like Jesus with Peter, James, and John he spent Time with them. At the Table we have time to build real relationships and genuine trust. It becomes our SAFE place. Only another Pastor can understand another Pastor and these Tables are making huge impacts on the Pastors who have started them. Pastors DO NOT look at this as “another meeting” but as a their “Weekly Vacation“. It is a time of refreshing and recharge. Sometimes an unload and reload.

It is this “Weekly Vacation” at the Table that helps us to be that Man of God my wife and children need. It is the Table that gives Pastors encouraging accountability to stay strong and move to the next level. It is the Table that instills a Kingdom Culture because my Pastor brothers lift my arms up when I am in battle and pick me up when no one else knows I have slipped.

The Champions Table is for every Pastor. It is where Champions are made, marriages are strengthened and ministries and energized.

David Gibbs III Hits a Home Run or “Nerve” of Many Pastors

July 25th at the Pastors Power Luncheon Attorney David Gibbs and Pastor Fred Harrold both gave resounding messages. Pastor Fred reviewed many of the issues Pastors face with congregations that can be very demoralizing, however he gave a solution for many to consider, “The Champion Table”. Attorney Gibbs talked squarely to Pastors about real legal issues that can not only create great distress for a church/pastor but could possibly destroy a church. Churches today must be aware of the many satanic attacks that are taking place each day across America within churches. I did say within! Pastor Luncheon at the River Church Blesses Many!

Thursday August 2, 2012 The River Church of Tampa Florida hosted one of our All Pro Pastors Luncheon. It was set up for 64 pastors/spouses and we experienced a great overflow. We heard testimonies from Pastors Dan Reid and Willie Bolden about their Champion Tables and the benefits that they personally enjoy as part of one. We also had a special surprise when the Founder of the Florida Family Policy Council, John Stemberger gave us a visit. He shared briefly about what he is doing to protect our rights as Christians in Florida.

We must applaud The River for providing a fabulous completely organic meal. They treated our local pastors as royalty. Dr. Rodney and Adonica Howard Browne were the perfect hosts. It was a true expression of seeing the Kingdom in its fullness as they opened their church in genuine love to Baptist, Assembly of God, Church of God, Messianic Jews, Throne of David, non-denomination,  and many others.

We have already established one new Champion Table and others are soon to come as the result of Thursday”s luncheon. Every Pastor that I personally spoke with said that they were encouraged and learned a lot. When we asked Dr Rodney to close the meeting out many were surprised at his compassion for America and passion to see Pastors come together in unity.

We want to thank The River for being great hosts and opening their doors for APP to have a Pastors/spouse luncheon as their guests. Praise God for places that are completely open and invite the Body of Christ to come together without reservation.

Church Trade Show and Pastors/Wives Luncheon

November 11th is a very special day for All Pro Pastors. We will be joining the 3rd Annual Shepherds Guide and Moody Radio Church Business Trade show this year as the honored ministry host. This event brings Christian businesses together and Churches together for an unprecedented gathering of the Kingdom. For years there has been a struggle for many Churches to know how to embrace Christian businesses within their own congregation and community. Many times a Pastor is not even aware of who is in business within his own church. On the eleventh Polk County Christian business owners will have an opportunity to showcase their business for their local church leaders to see. A very special Pastors and Wives luncheon is going to take place right in the middle of this event and we are thankful that Lakeland, Florida Mayor  Gow Fields will be our special guest. Every Pastor who is a veteran will recieve special recognition and a gift. This event will be at the Highland Park Nazarene Church from 9AM-2PM. Pastors and Staff are encouraged to attend!!!
