Gateways to Better Education
Gateways to Better Education is a nonprofit organization founded in 1991 to help public school educators, parents and school leaders foster faith-welcoming schools for students as well as appropriately teach about the Bible and Christianity without mixing church and state. We show them how to do this legally within existing constitutional boundaries, current laws, and state academic standards.
We empower parents with tools to navigate the public schools to help their children graduate with their faith and values intact. We guide school leaders in establishing policies and practices that protect academic and religious freedom.

Lieutenant General, US ARMY (Retired) Michael T. Flynn is a subject matter expert in Diplomacy, Statecraft, Foreign Policy, Strategy Formulation, Defense, Intelligence, and other areas of national and international security. He served more than 33 years in the Army, Joint, and Special Operations Forces, with multiple overseas combat tours.
He is the author of 7 books, two are best sellers. He holds three master’s degrees, an honorary doctorate and currently serves as the Chairman of America’s Future, which is among the nation’s oldest non-profits.
His military career culminated as the Director of the Defense Intelligence Agency and the nation’s highest serving military intelligence officer. Additionally, he served the 45th President of the United States, President Donald J. Trump, as the nation’s 25th National Security Advisor. General Flynn is the recipient of numerous military awards and decorations as well as law enforcement, intelligence community and several non-profit lifetime achievement awards.
He is married, with two sons and several grandchildren.

Todd Lamphere is a ministry veteran of 37 years, serving churches in Virginia, Ohio and Florida as a Youth Pastor, Sr. Pastor, church planter and consultant.
Todd served under Pastor Paula White-Cain, Senior Advisor to the President on Faith under the Trump Administration in the White House Office of Faith and Opportunity Initiative.
Todd continues his role serving Pastor Paula at City of Destiny in Apopka, Florida while also serving as the VP of Government Relations for CityServe International.
His concern for the Southern Border prompted he and Pastor Paula to create Operation Border Blessing, a ministry that honors and serves US Border Patrol agents, their families and all connected with the border.
Co-Founder Citizens Defending Freedom
Steve Maxwell, born and raised in Lithia, Florida, embarked on a transformative journey when he joined the U.S. Navy as an Air Traffic Controller in 1982. Stationed at Chase Field Naval Air Station in Beeville, Texas, Steve and his wife Beverly found more than just a new home – they discovered a deepening faith.
Attending church with their neighbors, John and Nancy Durham, the Maxwells formed a close friendship that nurtured their spiritual growth. These years in Texas proved pivotal, as Steve’s faith intertwined with his sense of service and entrepreneurial aspirations. The couples shared dreams of financial independence and helping others achieve the same, all while grounded in their Christian values.
This period solidified Steve’s commitment to faith, service, and the belief that entrepreneurial success could align with Christian principles. These experiences would later shape his leadership at Highland Packaging Solutions and inspire his work with Citizens Defending Freedom and the Remnant Alliance.
Today, Steve’s faith remains a guiding force, influencing his business decisions, his dedication to America’s founding principles, and his passion for faith-based cultural engagement.
